Forgiveness is a difficult course to navigate. You can’t “fake it til you make it” when it comes to forgiving actions, words, people…
We are our toughest critics. It is admirable to give yourself space and time to allow forgiveness to come to you when it is ready and at that point you will no longer remember (or know) what it was that you were upset about in the first place.
This is a good sign! It means you have forgiven the injustice placed upon you.
But, the grudges we tend to hold onto so ardently are the instances in which we are having trouble forgiving ourselves for such actions.
The feeling is subtle on the surface, but it runs deep and biting.
Grant yourself what you have given others… Forgive yourself too.
Forgive others for any injustices they may have placed upon you AND forgive yourself for any injustices you may have placed upon others.
Make amends within yourself and let go.
