“I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments or fame. But if you just focus on the work…you’ll know that it was you and the people who love you that put you there, and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
-Taylor Swift, quoted in The Week
Love T Swift or hate her, I don’t care — she knows what she’s talking about.
Don’t get so caught up in the people who are trying to take credit for your work or belittle it — because you can lose sight of your goal. And trust me, those people have nothing to do with it.
The only opinion that matters is your own.
You decide how you feel, not anyone else.
Rise above the nay-sayers and don’t acknowledge them. They are only detracting from your work, they are not uplifting it.
In the end, your work is your work — you know how you got there and you know who helped you along the way, not much else matters.
Keep your integrity and don’t lower to the levels of those who wish you ill-will — trust me, they aren’t worth your energy.
