Centurion Wisdom (2)

“Don’t let anyone bull crap you.

Fight, fight for your rights.”

[Marion Stehura, 103 years old]

Marion is another centurion quoted in National Geographic – May 2013 Issue, and she is as feisty as she sounds.

She is depicted in the super-market with her fingers in her mouth, letting loose a whistle to ring throughout the store. “My whistle could blow this place to pieces,” she says. She looks like a woman who never let anyone stand in her way, and she wouldn’t put up with the “bull” they would dish out either.

Never be afraid to say no when you mean it – Never be afraid to say yes when you mean it.

Remember to answer for the right reasons, and the right reasons for you – no one else.

Believe in the fight for the things you want out of life – persevere.

My Mom passed away at 106. She was very healthy until she went into the hospital and they did not walk her.
She lost what strength she had in bed for only a few days. My brother John gave her vitamins to extend her life and kept her in balance. She was on no medications. Never had surgery. She lived in Hemet California for over 30 years where my Father painted and raised birds in her back yard garden with fruit trees and Olives.
Her secret was do everything in moderation. She never smoked, Like wine with friends but not often. Was a walker and never owned a car. She drove very little. She loved her dog and cat and her bird. Complained about the 10 pounds she wanted to loose for 60 years. Complained about too much house work and things to do. She ate very little meat, what she did eat was fish and chicken and little. She was a good Mother to me and taught me the names of all the trees and how to cook. She spoked bicycle wheels in the 50’s in Our Bike Shop named ” Palm Cycle” still there on 3770 Motor Avenue in Culver City, California.
My brother placed her body in the Pacific Ocean. No Toxic chemicals were used to replace her blood after her death. She is resting in Peace at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean becoming a part of the Circle of Life.
Peace, Love Hope and Joy to All, Daniel
