Advice from Jhumpa Lahiri

“Like any artist, any writer, I just want to have that pure freedom of expression and of thought.”

-Jhumpa Lahiri, Quoted from “The Week”

THIS is exactly why I write!!! I get utter freedom of expression and of thought.

When I write, I get to say all the things that I wanted to say, but didn’t (or couldn’t). I get to release my emotions in a different way upon the written page — my own form of therapy 🙂

And YES, I might “write off” someone who has hurt me. I might say all the things that I wanted to say to someone that I never got the chance too (or wasn’t brave enough too).

Writing is my expression. I cannot contain it, nor can you. Writing is my feelings, my thoughts.

Yes, I draw from real life on occasion to make it felt for the reader, and it works.

No, you will not always feel what I was feeling as I wrote the segment, but you will feel — and you will feel it in your own way, in your own time.

Read on.
